The filing period for the 2011 School Board seats opened on 2 August 2011 and I was there. 

In the last couple of years I have coached HFC United soccer, and HYAA baseball, served on the boards of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and Hastings Area Y, served on the Middle School Transition Building Task Force, Transportation and Safety Task Force, and Program Committee.  I served as the Chair of the McAuliffe Elementary Parent Teacher Connection (PTC) and participated in the Pinecrest Parent Educator Partnership.  I volunteered weekly in my kids’ 1^st and 2^nd grade classrooms, and spent a couple hours a week in the Media Center.  I volunteer weekly at Augustana Care Center visiting residents along with my 14-year old golden retreiver Echo. I continue to participate in MOMS Club- Hastings, MN chairing our Bridge to a Cure Team and leading the effort to provide refreshments and the Holiday Train.

I have recieved quite a bit of positive feedback about my last compaign and encouragement to run again .My 2009 school board run was really invigorating.  I met alot of great people; broadened my thinking about the issues facing our school district, and districts across the state; and realized just how many assests there are community wide for our schools to tap into. 

IMy personal passion is as strong as ever.  The challenges facing the District are real and significant.  I firmly believe that my personal talents and assets are aligned to face these challenges.  My commitment to community wde collaboration, strategic planning and unified goal setting will allow all the resources of the community to be tapped as we continue to grow a healthy community and strong kids.
