Permalink Reply by Carmen Gail Quarford on August 30, 2010 at 12:42pm The Pianist- by Wladyslaw Szpilman is still a favorite of mine if you enjoy non-fiction. It's about a Polish Jew who plays piano for a radio station in Warsaw when WWII hits. Amazing story of how he survived.
I'm also a fan of Thich Nhat Hahn's works. The Art of Peace was a fantastic read. You don't have to agree with any sort of religion to read his works, it's for anyone.
Granted it's not summer anymore, but perhaps winter break reading. =)
